Together, they’ve created a space where artistry, development, and community converge, offering artists the tools and guidance to thrive in today’s music industry.

James’s Journey: A Lifetime of Music and Mastery

James Talbot’s music journey began humbly, playing guitar at Elevation Church in Charlotte. He quickly rose to touring nationally with country artists like Abby Anderson, Brandon Lay, and Dusty Black, even performing overseas for U.S. troops. During his time on the road, James also led a band with his brother Andrew, a collaboration that took them abroad to record with a master producer. It was during this pivotal moment that James saw firsthand the challenges and compromises of navigating the music industry. His mission now? To guide artists in staying true to their sound while achieving commercial success.

Katie’s Journey: A Passion for Artist Development

In 2008, Katie Talbot dove headfirst into the music industry when she moved to Los Angeles with the Cyrus family during Miley’s Hannah Montana era. Her recording career blossomed after signing with a boutique label founded by Boyz II Men’s Mike McCary. However, after seeing how the industry often treated artists as mere commodities, Katie found her true calling—empowering others. Transitioning to artist development, she worked with groups on vocals, stage presence, and confidence. Her first vocal client was Noah Cyrus, and from there, her roster grew to include artists heard across Spotify and radio, such as Carter Faith, Conner Smith, and Justin Champagne. Today, Katie blends her vocal coaching and development expertise with James’s production talents to create transformative experiences for artists in the studio.

Gold Lion Studios was born in 2021 as a natural extension of James and Katie’s shared vision: to provide a refreshing and holistic approach to artist development. Combining Katie’s passion for fostering talent and James’s production expertise, they’ve built more than a recording studio—they’ve created a community.
